The Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan, has picked the nomination form of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to seek a second term in office in the 2015 general elections, promising to work with all Nigerians to continue to provide the transformation development of the country.

President Jonathan picked the form on Thursday at the ruling party’s Secretariat, Wadata Plaza in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
The President thanked the party for giving him the opportunity of the first offer of refusal and promised not to disappoint Nigerians.
The National Chairman of PDP, Adamu Mu’azu, told reporters that the new move of the party to endorse President Jonathan as its sole candidate was a laudable initiative that was good for Nigeria’s democracy.
Thursday, October 30, is the last date set aside by the PDP for all their aspirants to pick nomination forms for the various political offices they are vying for.
Few days ago, some members of the party, who had the intention of running for the presidency, decried the decision of the party to give the sole ticket to President Jonathan.

In a statement on Wednesday, the spokesman for the President, Ruben Abati, said:“President Jonathan is greatly encouraged by the overwhelming outpouring of goodwill and support, as well as the confidence of the generality of Nigerians in his ability to continue to transform the country for the good of all of its people”.
Mr Abati also said that the President received donation and pledges from persons, groups and communities to assist him pay the required 22 million Naira (about $137,500) for the PDP Presidential Nomination Fee and Expression of Interest Form.
President Jonathan assured the donors that he would continue to do his utmost best at all times to fully justify the great confidence they have placed in his leadership.
