The Kogi State Election petition tribunal sitting in Abuja has ordered Engr. Musa Wada, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Candidate, to inspect the ballot papers and other electoral materials used for the November 16th 2019 governorship election.
The inspection of materials would begin today, Friday January 10th 2020, with the incumbent Governor’s Local Government, Okene, where the incumbent Governor, Yahaya Bello, candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 112,000 votes in the election.
The PDP candidate had challenged the outcome of the election and consequently, the victory of Yahaya Bello and his party, APC, pointing out that the election was marred by irregularities and outright writing of result.
The inspection of materials is to hold at the headquarters of the electoral body in the presence of the counsels and party agents.
Yahaya Bello of the APC defeated his closest rival, Engr. Musa Wada of the PDP, to emerge winner of the election.
